Your Finish Rich Plan - A Personal Finance Blog

Where we put the emphasis on the personal in personal finance

About Me

Welcome to Your Finish Rich Plan.

I decided to build this website first and foremost because I’m passionate about personal finance. Yes, I know, it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and might even sound strange to some. But just consider, for a few seconds, how much our life is impacted by our financial choices (or lack thereof). Therefore my personal belief is that although you don’t have to like personal finance, the very least you can do is put yourself in a position where you can learn about it and get (further) ahead in that department.

Too often, I’ve seen websites focusing on only one aspect of personal finance. The excellent book “You, Inc”, teaches us to consider each one of us as a one-person company. As such, our “profit” is determined by what we earned, minus what we spend. No sound Finish Rich Plan can focus on one while neglecting the other.

This approach allows me to structure this blog into four main categories, which follow:

Extra Income

Focuses on ways to reel in those extra dollars.

I can guarantee you will NOT find any get rich quick schemes here, nor will you find unrealistic frugality tips. On the other hand, I am a firm believer that your regular 9/5 job will only take you so far.

As such, I will keep an open mind when it comes to business opportunities

Money Management

You’re never going to Finish Rich if you don’t control how (and how much) money flows out of your pocket.

Avoid getting scammed. Sift through the “free” stuff and the “incredible deals”.

Make your dollar go further!

Includes tax tips as well as credit advice!

Invest

Plant and grow your very own money tree. It’s NOT complicated, and it doesn’t require a lot of money.

Rest assured, though. No hot stock picks here.

Only quality, informative material.

Treat Yourself

You read that right. A splurge section on a personal finance website.

If you can splurge while successfully achieving your goals, you’ve been doing your homework!

Consider this your report card.

About me:

I am an ambitious guy in my early thirties. I’ve been living in New York City for over a year now but I was born and raised in Haiti. I’ve always been attracted to financial success and entrepreneurship, and as a result I’ve thrown a considerable amount of money into all kinds of get rich quick schemes. Now that I’m older, and hopefully wiser, I want to become financially independent and wealthy using the “boring” approach of actually building wealth. I keep abreast of what’s going on in the financial world, especially when it comes to new business ideas. I’m a sucker for passive income and I envision my success in 3 steps : be financially independent, then be rich, and finally be wealthy.

I will consider myself financially independent once my monthly passive income (from dividends and real estate rentals) reaches roughly 1.5 times my monthly expenses, giving me the luxury of not having to work. As for being rich and then wealthy, let’s just say I’ll cross that bridge when I get there :)
