Rich Life Carnival #2
Welcome to the May 16, 2008 edition of rich life carnival. Below I have two posts that were hard to categorize, but I liked them so I put them right on top. I also want to say that I’m delighted at the (positive) evolution of the Self-Improvement section of the carnival. That’s my personal favorite section! On with the submissions…
Rickey Henderson presents A Memo from the Office of Steven R. Lawlor, CPA, to Indiana Jones posted at Riding with Rickey. I couldn’t stop smiling while reading this one. I think that no matter what mood you’re in, this will put a smile on your face. Highly recommended!
Sam Carrara presents 10th Wedding Anniversary posted at Sam Carrara’s Marketing Education. In this era where 50% of marriages end up in divorce, this is refreshing.
Healthy Living
Rosemary Rugnetta presents 3 Easy Ways To Make Your Home Green This Weekend posted at Her Home Blog. Those are really simple tips that do not ask that you alter your lifestyle.
Personal Finance
Helen Anderson presents 7 Secrets to Personal Finance Success at Best CD (Certificate of Deposit) Rates, Money Market Rates, High Interest Accounts posted at Bankaholic. Those powerful principles are at the cornerstone of wealth building.
Barb A. Ryan presents 10 - Independent Investment Counselors and Financial Advisors posted at Pasadena Financial Planner. This is actually the 10th step of a series on Financial Planning. I recommend going back and reading all ten steps, starting with step 1.
Brice Hogan presents Retirement Knocking, Little Saved posted at Financialzip.com, saying, “Saving for retirement can be hard, and even more difficult if you are a baby boomer. Some simple ways to begin saving for retirement.” Details strategies that you can use if retirement is nearing and you need to catch up on your savings.

Raymond presents How To Get Your Free FICO Credit Score posted at Money Blue Book. Pretty much self-explanatory
Investing Angel presents Some Thoughts On Google (GOOG) » Free Stock Market Investing Tips posted at Stock Tips, saying, “A few thoughts about the Google stock”. As an owner of Google stock, the author ponders whether or not he should sell or hold.
Tip Diva presents Top Ten Tips - Managing Your Personal Budget posted at Tip Diva, saying, “In uncertain economic times, it’s a smart idea to know where your financial status stands. If you’re looking to start cutting down on expenses, the best way to do so is creating a personal budget”

Jed Norwood presents Forex Questions Answered Webinar Series posted at Forex Strategy, saying, “This post features 3 Forex webinars that will help Forex beginners learn how to be more successful in the Forex market.”
Faron Benoit presents Why Pensions Are Important posted at Financial Learn. (Too) short article. The related posts are worth reading, though.
David presents The 10 Best Advices on Becoming a Millionaire posted at Worldwide Success. Nothing that we don’t know, but the reinforcement is ALWAYS welcome.
Donovan Snelleman presents Easiest Way to Save Money AND Become Rich posted at ImprovedLife.ca, saying, “The majority of us want to become rich, but without any windfalls happening this is something we are going to have to do ourselves and no matter how you look at it, it’s going to take time.”

FIRE Getters presents Is Your City Recession-Proof? These 10 Are! posted at FIRE Finance. Depending on your situation (and how close you are to any one of those cities), you might consider moving…
Self Improvement

When approached sensibly and with compassion, conflict resolution can lead to greater emotional fulfillment and closer bonds with your partner.”
Charles H. Green presents How to Increase Trust by Getting Off Your “S” posted at Trusted Advisor Associates, saying, “Self-orientation can be the biggest obstacle to happiness and good relations with others, because when you start thinking of other people first, you tend to do the right thing instinctively.”
Chris Edgar presents Are You Shaking Hands “The Right Way”? posted at Purpose Power Coaching, saying, “I recently read an article on how people should shake hands in business interactions if they want to look assertive and in control. To me, there’s an irony in writings like these, because the authors learn what they teach by observing people who aren’t self-conscious about their body language. In this article, I suggest that coming to terms with your self-consciousness–not imitating others’ body language–is a better way to make a good impression.”
Leorita Seneres-Velasquez presents How NOT to overspend posted at Money Matters. Overspending is lethal to your financial health. Start making the B word part of your life. Oh, it’s BUDGET… What were you thinking?

@ Chris, Gayathri
Many bloggers think (and rightfully so) that the main point of carnivals is to cross-link with other websites relevant to your subject matter. This is valid, but I also think that it should be about getting traffic too. That’s why I try and promote the articles that I choose to publish on my carnival. So far Stumble Upon is the website where I’ve had the most success bringing in traffic. Hopefully everyone gets to reap the rewards
